🏗️ The construction of our Smart Power Fab in Dresden is right on track! Yesterday, Saxony's Prime Minister, Michael Kretschmer, handed over the last outstanding building permit for the construction project. Scheduled for completion in 2026, this state-of-the-art semiconductor facility represents a 5 billion euro investment, enhancing supply chain security in Europe and driving decarbonization and digitization. Dr. Rutger Wijburg, Member of the Management Board and Chief Operations Officer of Infineon, on the occasion: "We are making excellent progress with the construction of our state-of-the-art Smart Power Fab in Dresden. The fact that we are right on schedule is also thanks to the excellent cooperation with the authorities. With our strategic decision to continue investing in Dresden, we are securing the long-term future of the site and strengthening the manufacturing base for semiconductors in Europe." More than 10 thousand young people from different countries celebrated the European Festival, Fête de l'Europe, in Dresden, this week, and we were right in the middle of it. 🥳 After the opening speech by Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, our CEO Jochen Hanebeck emphasized in a video statement the importance of courageous young people in shaping Europe's future and making the world a better place. 🙌 Another highlight was the visit of Emmanuel Macron. It was the first inaugural visit of a French president to Germany in 24 years. In his speech, he underlined the importance of strengthening democracy in Europe for the security of all people. As a cooperation partner of the Fête de l'Europe, we had the pleasure to present our global contribution to #decarbonization and #digitalization.
