NO NO NO!

Melanie C may be unable to walk properly for 18 months after sustaining an injury on the Channel 4 show, 'The Games'.

The former Spice Girl snapped three ligaments in her knee when she was floored by Miss World (Azra Akin) in a bout of judo for the programme.

According to tabloid reports, the 29-year-old singer has cancelled all forthcoming public appearances and has postponed the release of her new single, 'Yeh Yeh Yeh'.

A friend of Mel's explained: "She is undergoing serious problems with her knee. She had surgery on Friday. It was worse than the thought. Once they opened her knee up. Much worse.

"She's going to be on crutches for four to six weeks, then it will be 18 months before she is able to walk and run properly."

Mel is expected to have her leg in a splint for the next two weeks and will then wear a wire brace that will allow more flexibility.

A statement on her official website reads: "Mel's spirits are good in spite of everything. She sends love and thanks to all her fans who have been so supportive. She is overwhelmed with the support she has received."

'Yeh Yeh Yeh' - the third single to be released from Mel's last album, 'Reason' - is now expected to reach shops on October 27.
