Delicious Add-on for Firefox 5.x

Some of you have been asking us about Firefox v5.x support.

The Delicious add-on for Firefox v5.x is available on the Mozilla site at this link.

If you upgraded to Firefox v5.x from an earlier version of Firefox, your existing Delicious add-on will not be automatically upgraded at this time. We’re working on making that happen – hopefully soon. For now, you will need to get the add-on at the above link.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.

Hello, i have tested in the Firefox 5.0 and it was all good work , thanks for the new plugin :-)

  • JPC…  |  Jun 30 2011 at 7:59 am

The page that your link refers to still mentions under the “More about this add-on” header that it is only Supporting Firefox versions 3.0 to 4.0 (in stead of 5.0)

I think with this new Firefox I am going to finally convert back form chrome. I still think that chrome might be a bit faster but the add ones for Firefox make it worth while

  • Experte…  |  Jul 1 2011 at 10:54 am

We have made the same experience with this new Firefox. Chrome seems to be a faster but we cannot change because of the add-ones

This is fantastic, have been waiting for this for a while. Thankfully Firefox 5 seems to be compatible with the new add-on with no bugs! Will be going back to using delicious full time now.

To be honesty, Delicious social network seems be not very useful to website promotion. I am very disappointed.

It works really well on Firefox 5, thanks for the plugin.

  • Mode 2012…  |  Jul 3 2011 at 12:06 pm

I tested with FF5 too, and it worked just great, thanks a lot !

  • Beatrice…  |  Jul 3 2011 at 11:21 pm

For now, my Firefox is still 4.0. I also like to make good try for the newest, but when I update to the newest version, some of my other plugins cannot be supported. So I have to uninstall, then reset the original again!

For Delicious Add-on, I think it may worth to make my change now!

WoW, thanks a lot Del.icio.us & Avos! (Good to know being my voice was heard :)

However as previously commented, my situation is also similar: hesitating between Chrome for speed and Firefox for addons :)

  • Scraps…  |  Jul 5 2011 at 2:44 am

I also have tested it, and its working fine in my Firefox

  • JayyDoubleYouu…  |  Jul 5 2011 at 5:27 am

Unfortunately there’s a serious bug which apparently was present for earlier versions but seems for me to be rearing its ugly head particularly badly with Firefox 5.

Whenever the Delicious Extension decides to do its periodical background sync, the entire browser loses connectivity. It’s as if the browser is offline. CPU usage seems to ramp up too, and the only solution is to force quit the browser and start again.
(That’s on Mac – on PC at work it just seems to crash the browser altogether!)

I’m often getting logged out too. I hope you can dedicate some time to a proper code overhaul for this extension – it’s too important to lose.

Upgraded to the newest version! But new plug in stopped working! Oh God!!!!!! Can somebody help me

  • Mark Howells-Mead…  |  Jul 7 2011 at 1:27 pm

In OSX/FF4 I had a big problem when opening a browser when offline; the plugin went into a permanent loop warning me of invalid security certificates (due to the lack of means to validate it, due to the lack of internet connection). Has this been resolved?

  • kiwus…  |  Jul 8 2011 at 9:34 am

Offtopic: I don’t know what happened to tags suggestions script, but since a couple of months it’s utter rubbish. Maybe you could have a look at that?

  • Antie…  |  Jul 8 2011 at 8:12 pm

Thank you for working on this. However, why it still says beta? Should I wait the next version of this extension?

  • Someone…  |  Jul 10 2011 at 3:08 am

Ah, finally! For the first time after Firefox 3, the Delicious add-on works normally again, the awesome bar integration and all.

    Thanks AVOS. :)

Finally I find this blog as I have been wondering why my plugin has stopped working and no automatic updates were showing on the plugins. Hopefully you will get the automatic update working soon as I’m sure this is annoying someone else too. Thanks for providing that download link here.
