A SHOCKING video mocking Liverpool fans being crushed at Hillsborough has been posted on internet site YouTube. The footage, posted by someone claiming to be a Manchester United fan, has caused outrage on Merseyside. Hillsborough Family Support Group secretary Phil Hammond, whose 14-year-old son Philip was one of the 96 victims of the 1989 tragedy, today said he was shocked and sickened by the YouTube entry which is entitled “muppets on a fence”. He said: “Doesn’t anyone monitor what goes on websites like this? “If it is a Man United fan, they need to have a look at themselves, specially after what happened when they played in Lille a couple of weeks back.” The gruesome sequence begins with a picture of graffiti sprayed on a wall yards from United’s Old Trafford ground which reads: “Welcome you murdering Scouse ba****ds”. It then cuts to horrifying footage from Hillsborough, showing: * The chaos outside the ground prior to kick-off. * Liverpool fans being crushed against fences in the Leppings Lane end. * People desperately trying to escape the carnage. * Stricken fans being carried away on stretchers. * Fans being resuscitated on the pitch. * The reviled front page of the Sun newspaper, headlined The Truth. The sequence ends with a graphic of a Red Devil, Man United’s emblem, urinating against the Hillsborough memorial at Anfield, followed by the message 96 Was Not Enough. |
