    The only high school in FUNAFUTI, Tuvalu. The other one, Motufoua Secondary School is located in Vaitupu.

    Olosau means "drifting sea-mist" . Olosau is on tumaseu side of Vaitupu island and the beach where I was born and grew up. Our family land anciently, and even to this day. My father Esau, and mother Mamele raised us up there with the clean white sand and our fale of coconut logs with a pandanus thatched roof. Our vegetable gardens were behind the beach and pigs & chickens. My brothers and sisters, uncles and aunties, and all the young children playing happily together. How I miss my island home. Though my husband and I and our children and grandchildren live in beautiful Brisbane, our hearts ever remember our island home and heritage.

    This atoll consists of one island. It was bought by the United Kingdom in 1944 to decrease the population density, and has a population (2002 census) of 35. There are four ponds or lakes and the village has a maneapa (a village hall or community hall) in Tuvalu. There is one on each isle and they serve meeting and recreational functions as well. The isle has an oval outline, with the longer axis running east-west (about 1 km long).This island features highest point of Tuvalu ( 4.6 metres (15 ft) above sea level ).
