Djibouti, China Sign 64 mln USD Agreement to Facilitate Salt Export

The Djibouti government and China Exim Bank on Monday signed a loan agreement of 64 million U. S. dollars for the construction of an ore terminal to facilitate export of salt from Lake Assal.

The Djibouti government and China Exim Bank on Monday signed a loan agreement of 64 million U. S. dollars for the construction of an ore terminal to facilitate export of salt from Lake Assal.

China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Ltd, is to complete the project in two years.

According to an estimate, the completion of the construction work will enable Djibouti to export 5,000 tons of salt annually to Southeast Asian countries.
