What a great collection of music and a fine introduction to bhangra for anyone who has felt an attraction to it but was unsure where to start. I agree that the absence of "Dream the dream" is a terrible oversight on someone's part but that track may be present as a hidden, last track on the All Saints all hits cd. I have not had the chance to find out first hand yet. This (the India) version of the soundtrack is the one I went for and I have no regrets.

Hello. I love "Bend it Like Beckham!" I watch this movie every other day. I heard that there are different versions of the soundtract. Can anyone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help me find the CD version that has the song that was played the night they went to the club in Germany. Not the songs in the actual club but the Indian song that played when Jes came outside in the nice outfit (after her makeover) right before they went to the club. I really, really like this song and would like to get it. If it's not on any of the versions, can someone tell me the name so that I can get it. Thanks! :D

I got the US version of the BILB soundtrack first, and it's probably my favorite CD ever... I swear I have listened to it thousands of times. It is a wonderful collection for anyone who liked the movie to any extent, and also just a fun mix, great for road trips!... See more

I agree that the lack of Shaznay Lewis' "Dream the Dream" is a terrible loss to all the versions of the soundtrack... will someone please publish that song already?! I have been looking for it forever...

The Indian version has the Curtis Mayfield song, while the UK version has the Basement Jaxx song. Pick which you like better. I also recommend buying the imports used, or new from another seller, because they are much cheaper!

For anyone who wants to continue their exploration of Bhangra and Indian pop after this wonderful exposure (like I did!) I recommend the collection called "Bhangra Beatz". Enjoy!

If you're looking for the Curtis Mayfield track 'Move On Up' (one of the best songs from the movie in my opinion) click on the picture of the cd so that you can 'see larger picture' for either of the import cd's. You will notice that you can clearly see some of the artists... See more
If you're looking for the Curtis Mayfield track 'Move On Up' (one of the best songs from the movie in my opinion) click on the picture of the cd so that you can 'see larger picture' for either of the import cd's. You will notice that you can clearly see some of the artists featured on each cd. One of the import cd's (the cheaper one I think) lists 'Curtis Mayfield'. Just a heads up for anyone who wants to find that track. Hope this was useful!

Hi there. I know it's lame to write a review if you haven't purchased but I'm so glad I read the song list beforehand. The value of this CD for me would be the songs, "She's a Lady," and of course, Curtis Mayfield's, "Move on Up," and I am very disappointed neither is on the soundtrack(s), as far as I know. I really loved the drill and game sequences with the whole team in motion (girl power!!!) and wanted to remember them with the songs. What a disappointment. I mean, "Hot, hot, hot," is a fun song but it was used for the OUT TAKES! C'mon! And I agree about the comment prior that dialogue is irritating over time (unless it's REALLY short and funny). Otherwise, definitely see the movie repeatedly...I may buy it for family!

OK, so I had tears running down my face during most of the movie. The soundtrack recaptures the magic quite well, but I have to say the absence of Shaznay Lewis' "Dream the Dream" is a criminal loss to the album. Who woulda thunk Nusrat could have sounded so well with a hip-hop beat? Who woulda thunk ex-Spice Girl Mel C had so matured musically? Who is this killer band "Texas"? All in all, a great mix of bhangra, R&B, pop, and trance. PLEASE PUBLISH THE TABLATURE/CHORDS for the musicians in the crowd.
