In this article we report on the global ranking about car manufacturers considered as group, aggregating sales done for each brand owned by the same group.
Looking at cumulative sales up to April 2024 the leader is Toyota Group which sold 3.3 million vehicles (-4.1%), keeping a wide advantage over all others
The second was Volkswagen Group with 2.7 million sales (+3.7%) growing in America (+19.2%) and Europe (+4.2%).
Stellantis ranks in 3rd spot reporting 2.2 million sales and a 2.5% increase in sales. This growth is sustained by mild growth in Asia (+5.4%) and Europe (+3.2%).
In 4th spot the Hyundai-Kia accumulates 2.2 million sales (-3.4%). The struggle in Asia (-6.9%) and America (-1.3%) outweighs the mild growth registered in Europe (+3.4%).
Renault Nissan Alliance maintains the fifth place with 2.2 million sales (+2.2%). It reported strong growth in Europe (+8.5%) and in Oceania (+19.5%).
Behind, General Motors with 1.9 million sales (+2.0%) followed by Ford with 4.1 million new sales (+4.2%) and Honda Motor with 3.9 million units sold (+4.5%).
In 9th place Suzuki with 1.1 million sales was moderately down (+8.7%).
In 10th place ranks Geely -up 2 spots- with 1.1 million sales (+25.0%).
The Chinese Group BYD ranks in 11th spot with 866,985 registrations and reports one of the best performances in the top 30, rising 25.4% in new year-to-date vehicle sales.
