Instagram is a media-sharing application owned by Facebook. It introduced the Instagram Reels feature as a replacement to the TikTok in India. Reels allow Instagram users to create 15-seconds video clips. These Reels videos have an option to add songs, filters, effects, etc to make them more interesting and thereafter share with people.

Reels have more interesting things to know about. Here's all:

Who can use Reels?

As of now, the Instagram Reels feature is only available for the following countries:

  • Brazil
  • France
  • Germany
  • India

How to get more views on your Reels?

Reels do not require to add a lot of hashtags to reach larger no. of users as the Reel recommendations work on the basis of genre or interest of a user. But you can use hashtags for your videos if you want them to be featured on a specific page.

As of now, people will only be able to see Reels in the countries where Reels is available.

In case you post a Reel, then people who follow you and live outside of the markets where Reels is available will be able to see the Reel. They won’t be able to create and post their own Reels.

How does it work?

  • Open Instagram
  • Tap on the camera at the top left corner or swipe left
  • Now, choose ‘Reels’ among the 3 options at the bottom of the app i.e. Live, Story, Reels
  • You can record video, choose filters, audio, select time duration, etc.
  • Then, start recording.
  • Tap on music to add audio to the clip, tap on emoji to add an emoticon, etc.

AR Effects in Reels

Instagram has over 1000 AR Effects which can be used while making Reel video-clips. Effects like a mirror, infinite zoom, phantom light, kaleidoscope, particle pulse, chromatic delay, LED starburst, green-screen, motion blur, light leak, etc will enhance the video.

To try more AR Effects, you can scroll to the right on the AR Effects and search for more effects and save into carousel.

You can find Reels in the explore tab. They will not be shared to your feed because of the default setting. Therefore, users can choose to share Reels to feed and explore to improve the visibility of Reels.

There has been a creation of separate section for Reels by Instagram on the profile.

How to share Reels to Facebook and add links to Reels?

You cannot share your Reels on Facebook, and it is not possible to add links to Reels.
