In Kyrgyzstan, efforts to grow #VentureCapital are emerging, but there are still no established VC firms. Our ecosystem is still maturing, and we have a long way to go. Many may wonder, what is VC? While we often discuss supporting entrepreneurs (as agencies), the reality is that startups cannot grow solely on their own resources. Without continuous investment, their momentum will fall. Traditionally, investors prefer more mature startups with clear growth rates. VCs, however, are willing to take risks by investing in early-stage startups (put it in a simple language). I know Jahn Karsybaev and Adil Nurgozhin personally, and they have stories beyond their roles as venture capitalists: Jahn is a great public communicator, running a Ivy Podcast and excelling in networking, bringing together investors and innovators worldwide. I'm excited to bring this super connector to Bishkek. Adil has been an entrepreneur from an early age. He has managed state agencies in trade and investment, and established the first official support channel for entrepreneurs between Kazakhstan and Singapore, ASEAN market. Now, he's providing the fuel startups need to go global 🚀 I admire these guys for their holistic view of the innovation ecosystem. They themselves have been through the entrepreneurial journey, so they know what are needed for entrepreneurs in their skin. Now they boldly go where few are present.
