Today, the Government has published a new consultation which could help make installing heat pumps more affordable. Proposed measures include varying grant levels depending on property type or existing fuel source. More action is needed to boost heat pump deployment and reach the target of 600,000 heat pump installs a year by 2028. Share your views and respond to the consultation here: https://lnkd.in/e6nuicHW #HeatPumps #Heating #LowCarbon Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

What's in natural gas? Let's examine its common components! ✨ Methane: The main component of natural gas, methane is an abundant greenhouse gas, but it can be harnessed as a cleaner energy source! 🌍 Did you know it produces less carbon dioxide when burned compared to other fossil fuels? ✨ Ethane: Ethane is used in various industries, such as plastics and chemicals. ✨ Propane: Get ready to fire up the grill! Propane is not only fantastic for barbecues, but it's also used as a heating fuel and in numerous industrial applications. ✨ Butane: Butane is commonly found in lighters and camping stoves, providing us with portable and convenient energy. How much of each is in your natural gas? Pipeline quality natural gas, NAESB standard natural gas, and upstream well pad natural gas may have different gas compositions. That's why it's so important to have a flow meter with programmable gas composition capabilities. Find out more about Gas-SelectX® from Fox Thermal and see how it can help you improve accuracy when your gas composition changes. https://bit.ly/3DYFh94 #NaturalGas

Please stop by our booth at IDEA 2024! The Condex condensing waste heat recovery system by Combustion & Energy Systems can help to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by heating treated boiler make up water, condensate return, heating loop water, boiler combustion air, and other process fluids using energy in hot waste streams. Boiler, gas turbine, recip engine, RTO, dryer and other gas/air exhaust streams laden with moisture are cooled to the point that vapor is condensed out, releasing latent heat energy along with sensible energy that otherwise would be lost to the atmosphere. Special construction and materials are used to avoid acid corrosion providing our customers with robust energy saving systems lasting more than 20 years with minimal maintenance Multiple heat sources can feed a single Condex heat exchanger core and each Condex system can include multiple independent liquid streams to be heated simultaneously such as make up water and process water. Temperatures up to 200F are achievable for incoming liquid streams. Let us show you what how we can reduce your carbon footprint with energy cost savings. Please stop by booth #82 and lets see if a Condex condensing waste heat recovery system is right for you. hashtag #IDEA2024 hashtag #Districtenergy hashtag #condensingwasteheatrecovery

Steam Leakage, A Hurdle In Achieving Sustainability Did you know? A steam leak of 20kg/hr leads to 280 tons of coal consumption per year. Leaking stream traps can increase operating expenses as much as 33%. According to U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Washington, even the smallest steam-trap leak can cost as much as $8000/yr. A dry-steam leak costs $15/1000lb. According to Inveno Engineering, LLC here are some most common contributors and responsive actions to steam and condensate leakage in plants: 1. Threaded Pipe Connections: Choosing the right lubricants is crucial for compatibility and temperature performance. Let's minimize leaks and energy waste! 2. Standard Valves: Opt for ball and butterfly valves with low leakage rates, meeting stringent standards. Keep that steam tight and efficient! 3. Internal Leakage: Steam isolation valves must provide airtight closure. Seal the energy leaks! 4. Valve Packing: Regular maintenance is vital to prevent steam or condensate leaks. Stay proactive for sustainability! 5. Erosion: Combat erosion to reduce the risk of increased steam leaks over time. Protect equipment and our environment! Addressing these common contributors to steam leakage not only improves plant efficiency but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability. Let's work together for a greener, more sustainable future! Source: https://lnkd.in/dFe7BYnH #Sustainability #SteamLeakage #EnergyEfficiency
